ARCHITECTURE
& CONSERVATION
The
Covent Garden Area Trust is a charity charged with specific responsibility
for monitoring and controlling the use and architectural integrity
of key buildings located in the heart of Covent Garden.
The
Trust has commissioned the publication of its
ENVIRONMENTAL
STUDY OF CENTRAL COVENT GARDEN
This
important and comprehensive document was funded partly by Westminster
City Council, English Heritage and Guardian Properties. It contains
a set of coherent recommendations relating to the facades of the
buildings of the Piazza and surrounding streets and the successful
management of the spaces between them. It has been adopted by the
City of Westminster as material consideration in assessing all planning
applications within the area.
It
will be of invaluable assistance to you if you are:-
- An
owner or prospective purchaser of Covent Garden property contemplating
redevelopment or alterations to buildings.
- An
occupier/tenant considering change of use, advertisement, display
or provision of catering facilities in the area.
- A
student or practising professional of architecture, planning,
surveying, estate management or environmental study with academic
interest in one of the most prestigious and successful inner
city renewal challenges of recent years.
The Environmental Study of Covent Garden is only available direct from the Covent Garden Area Trust. To obtain your copy of the study, please contact Sarah Lane, Trust Administrator.
You can also view the study on-line.
“Caring for Covent Garden” the latest version of the study, is available to download in PDF format. A complete screen-readable version is available as well as a high resolution for printing which is filed in separate chapters.
